Flashback Picture Post: Lucky cute little baby meets the cast of Twilight right on the set!

OK, so apparently I'm just a mom and not computer savvy at all!! I thought no one could get to my private pictures, but they did! Whatever! I'm really sad that I can't surprise you all with my cute baby pictures, but at least I can tell you my story and then post my pics!

If you were anything like me you were just so excited to hear each and every detail about those that got on the sets! I couldn't get enough, so I hope to give you all the details of my most amazing night ever! Still bummed to not be able to surprise you all!

So first off let me tell you how dumb I felt going to the set with a baby! I'm one of those moms that nurses for a year, so my babies pretty much go where I go if it is for a long time! This little girl of mine truly is a Twilight Baby! She has been apart of this obbession since she was a couple months old!

So, I couldn't get a hold of CaliCat because our cell phones didn't work in the mountains. I felt like the biggest dork coming there with a baby! It took me a long time to get my courage up to walk over to the set was and where the fans were standing! I finally did, and boy did it pay off to have her there!

As we were hanging out with Nikki, Kellan and Peter, Nikki just couldn't get enough of her! It was just like Rosalie being so drawn to her good friend, Vera's, baby Henry! She was talking to her and wanted to hold her. At first my baby, we'll call her TB for Twilight Baby, wasn't so sure about going to Nikki. Then she warmed up to her and Nikki was holding her taking pictures.

So, then Nikki says; "I don't think I could get Kristen and Robert over here, but is it OK if I take her with your camera and take pictures of her with them?"

Ummmmm, let me think about it....... YES!!!!!!!!!!!

So, I sent my baby off with a vampire!!! I've endangered my baby by letting her be held, and kissed by a bunch of vampires!! I hope the social services don't take me away!! This is what Nikki comes back with...

So word on the street is that he doesn't like kids! I beg to differ!!! And Nikki is a sweetheart!! She is beautiful, and I'm glad she doesn't have Rosalie's attitude! But I know that she will be able to act her perfectly!! So excited for this movie! I'm such an idiot though! I didn't ask her to do a chat with us! Be looking for the Rosalie love book thread! Let's give her some real TMs love!!!

Maybe these weren't new to you, but I hope you enjoyed none the less!! I'm sad I didn't get to be in any pics with Robert! But I can't complain, I talked to him and got his autograph the day before! Never in a million years thought I would get these chances! Still on cloud nine!!!

Oh, I fogot to mention this in my last write up! When I met Catherine, I told her thank you so much for putting her heart into this movie! It is making our dreams come true, and thank you so much!

Ian Somerhalder on Rob: "I think he is a pretty sexy dude"!

Ian Somerhalder, who plays Damon on the CW series "The Vampire Diaries," says Robert Pattinson, star of the "Twilight" films, is a "pretty sexy dude."

Somerhalder, 32, made his comments to OnTheRedCarpet.com at the recent Comic-Con International convention in San Diego, California (see video above - warning, contains questionable language).

"I don't think anybody can touch that guy," the actor said about Pattinson. "That guy has like 100 million 'Twilight' fans worldwide. I think he's a pretty sexy dude because about 100 million women say so."

Both "The Vampire Diaries" and the "Twilight" movies are based on books and the actors who portray their main characters have massive fan followings. The "Twilight" films have made more than $1.8 billion worldwide.

Pattinson, a 25-year-old British actor, plays the vampire Edward Cullen and reprises his role in the fourth installment, "Breaking Dawn," alongside Kristen Stewart, who plays his love interest, Bella Swan. The first part hits theaters on November 11.

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are making the most of their downtime — together, of course! The couple is all cozied up in Los Angeles before Kristen departs for London to film Snow White and the Huntsman.

During the Snow White panel at Comic-Con, producers confirmed that the cast would be jetting off this week to get going on the much hyped project. Filming is set to start in early August.

So what have Rob and Kristen been up to?

The couple was spotted having dinner Tuesday in West Hollywood, Calif. “They looked relaxed and comfortable. They were just talking, hanging out like any normal couple” says an onlooker.

It’s rare Pattinson and Stewart go out without prying eyes, so we’ll just leave it at that.

Rob has a bit of a break before The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Pt. 1 promo duties kick into high gear, and we expect to see him visiting his girlfriend while she works over in the UK.

After all, he is the best person to perfect Kristen’s english accent that she’ll have for SWATH!

Taylor Lautner Workout and Diet Plan

Teen idol Taylor Lautner went from a one hundred forty pound (140 lb.) cute and gawky teenager to a one hundred seventy pound (170 lb.) sex symbol to maintain his role as Jacob Black for the remaining films in The Twilight Saga.

He was ranked 2^nd in Glamour’s “The 50 Sexiest Men 2010” list as well as hitting 4^th on People’s “Most Amazing Bodies” list.

He did all of this in a time frame under a year!!

Taking on a massive physical change during the one year between shootings may have just saved his career. He began working out the day after he was done filming Twilight.

He knew it was a necessity for his character, wolf Jacob Black, and if he didn’t he would have been recast out of Twilight: A New Moon.

So how hard was it?

Apparently, bulking up is not that hard when you have a good foundation to start with. Taylor is a martial artist who began studying the martial arts at the age of six and earned his black belt by the age of eight. He began acting soon there after.

Taylor originally worked out everyday but began losing weight. He discovered he needed to let his body rest and recover so he cut back to 5 days a week. He gained over thirty pounds (30 lbs.) of muscle before shooting Twilight: A New Moon.

Here’s a typical Taylor Lautner Workout and Diet Plan schedule - For his diet, Taylor mainly focused on eating every two hours. If it wasn’t a meal, it was a protein shake or protein bar.
An example of breakfast would be egg whites and a couple whole eggs, oatmeal and O.J.
Lunch would include something along the lines of Albacore Tuna, chicken, turkey or ground beef with veggies and brown rice.

Dinner would be broiled fish or chicken, veggies and a salad.
As for his workouts, Taylor likes to begin with a warm up such as running on the treadmill.

Here is a sample of the Taylor Lautner Workout:

Day 1- Legs

3(sets) x 12(reps) calf raises
3×12 reverse lunges (each leg)
3×12 single leg squats (each leg)
3×12 standing long jumps

Day 2- Abdominals and Back (As he is well known for his abs, he does a lot of work focusing on the abdominal region.)

3×20 abdominal crunches
3×30 planks
3×12 hanging knee raises
3×12 wide grip pull-ups
3×12 dead lifts with dumbbells
3×12 pull-downs

Day 3 – Shoulders and Chest

3×12 push- ups
3×12 dips
3×12 push-ups with feet on a Pilates ball
3×12 shoulder press with dumbbells
3×12 incline bench press with dumbbells

Day 4 – Arms

3×12 bench dips
3×12 close grip push-ups
3×12 incline dumbbell curls
3×12 barbell curls
3×12 rope push-downs
3×12 close grip pull-ups

Taylor would throw in a cardio day at any point. As far as you go, Do not exceed more than 30 minutes as cardio tends to take away from gaining mass.
With his upcoming movies, Abduction and The Field of Dreams 2-NFL Lockout, I am sure this is not the last we will see of this hunk.

Kristen Stewart and Ashley Greene took to Comic-Con this past weekend in jeans and tees, but both injected their signature style into the basics, resulting in two very different looks. We break it down to show how a basic tee and skinny jeans can look radically different depending on how you style it, and give you the links to shop right now.

Kristen Stewart showed up in her signature edgy chic look, with a black bra showing underneath her sheer white Market tee ($38), ultra skinny Seven for All Mankind jeans ($210), and classic black Chuck Taylors ($40). If we wanted to dress this up just a bit without losing Kristen's tough element, we would add dangly earrings, a leather cuff, and platform ankle booties.

Ashley Greene took a more polished, sexy approach, with a sheer black tee ($102) over her skinny ankle-length James jeans and sky-high black peep-toe pumps ($160). It's a basic look that perfectly toes the line between casual and dressed up. If we wanted to make this look more daytime appropriate, we would replace the shoes with a pair of gladiator sandals, and leave the clutch at home in favor of a crossbody bag.

Rupert Sanders Is Ready To Lose His “Cinematic Virginity” To Snow White & Charlize Theron Says She’s Basically Playing A Serial Killer

Comic-Con may be over but what we saw in San Diego is a strong indication that the box office will continue to take a beating from the superheroes, fairy tales and other high concept offerings over the next year or so. Despite all the talk about studios staying away this year, the convention was still a major circus and the films that did show up tried to grab some positive attention from the notoriously fickle crowd.

As transparent as the marketing and pandering can get, especially during the panels where all cast and crew have been coached on exactly which topics to hit and which to avoid in order to stay on the good side of fanboys and girls, the whole thing still kind of works. This writer went into Saturday’s panel for Universal‘s “Snow White & The Huntsman” with next to no interest in it and damn if it didn’t end up winning him over, along with the rest of the packed crowd inside Hall H.

The film, a dark twist on the classic fairy tale, will be the feature debut of British commercial helmer Rupert Sanders and features “Thor“‘s Chris Hemsworth as the Huntsman, Charlize Theron as the Evil Queen, ‘Pirates 4’‘s Sam Claflin as the Prince and Kristen Stewart as Snow White herself. Since the film doesn’t start shooting until next week, there wasn’t any official footage to show but the filmmakers did bring along a reel of Sanders’ commercial work, some images of the cast in costume (which you can look at here) and perhaps most effectively, a “stylistic piece” teaser assembled by the director just in time for Comic-Con. Rupert Sanders was on hand with cast members Stewart, Hemsworth, Theron and Claflin along with producers Joe Roth and Palak Patel and are the highlights from their talk about the upcoming film.

1. Though filming won’t begin for a few weeks, Rupert Sanders did assemble a “down and dirty” 2 minute teaser to give an idea of what he intended to do visually with the film and the dark, surreal footage won over the audience.

Sanders prefaced the teaser by saying that he’d shot the the clip over just a few days without any of his principal cast just to give fans at Comic-Con an idea of what he was trying to achieve visually with his adaptation. He’d stressed that though 90% of it was shot by him, he’d nicked a few shots from other films as well as the music just to fill in the gaps but that obviously none of this would be in the final film. It proved to be quite an effective reel, dark and moody, with sinister narration over surrealistic imagery including the Queen dissipating into a flock of birds and being submerged in a milky substance.

It was a remarkably polished sign of things to come that showed off the director’s chops as a visual stylist. Though Sanders knew it was risky bringing rough footage to the notoriously vocal folks at Comic-Con, he thought it would be good to show people that the story wasn’t going to be “a girl sitting by a well with little tweetie birds.” The commercial director will certainly make a visually ambitious film but let’s just hope there’s a great script underneath to really bring the tale to life.

2. Producer Joe Roth admits that this film is attempt to reproduce the massive success of “Alice In Wonderland”

Between 2009’s “Alice In Wonderland,” Sam Raimi‘s upcoming “Oz: The Great And Powerful” and this latest version of Snow White moderator and EW writer Dave Karger asked what about these classic tales appealed to Roth who joked, “I couldn’t think of anything else to do,” before admitting to coming up with the idea by “reverse-engineering from ‘Alice’,” by trying to duplicate the massive success of that film. Regardless of what critics thought of Tim Burton‘s gaudy film, it still made over a billion dollars at the worldwide box office and that’s not the kind of money Hollywood likes to ignore. In lieu of a successful sequel, the producer mused that an idea has to be something that people all over the world are familiar with in order to reach the largest audience possible. “You need to come up with an idea that everybody knows, every generation, in every language… and use that as a starting point.”

Roth also admitted they had initially been looking for an unknown to take the lead prior to casting “Twilight” phenom Kristen Stewart because he was “trying to copy what they’d done on ‘Alice’ with [casting] Mia [Wasikowska]” but he came around because he was excited to be able to be the “first one to get her out of the [‘Twilight’] franchise.”

With the film set for a June 1, 2012 release, the filmmakers knew this was the last chance to get the film before an audience at the convention. By next year’s Comic-Con the film will have been in theaters for about six weeks and Roth said he hoped would have racked up around “700 million dollars” by this time next year. Time will tell if the film becomes the global smash the producer is hoping for or whether counting his chickens before they hatch will become a cautionary tale.

Regardless of the initial motivation for adapting the property, the mega-producer has certainly assembled an impressive cast and crew to bring the tale to life and in the end, it’ll be up to them whether the film lives or dies at the box office.

3. Though much has been made of the two ‘Snow White’ films currently in development the filmmakers don’t seem worried about the competition.

One of the most ironic bits of scheduling at Hall H was putting “Snow White & The Huntsman” directly after the panel for “Immortals.” The reason being that ‘Immortals’ director Tarsem Singh just happens to be the filmmaker helming the other version of Snow White with Lily Collins as the titular heroine and Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen. While we can only dream up a scenario where the two filmmakers threw down backstage, the producers said they weren’t worried about the other version.

Roth described them as being “very different pieces” and said that he thought their version was “on the scale with ‘Lord of the Rings’ in terms of size and scope. It’s a tough, rough, active, male/female picture.” Though he said he couldn’t speak for the other version Roth said that the images he’d seen of the other film (which EW ran recently) seemed like a “softer version.” Whether audiences will want to shell out for two versions of the same story also didn’t seem to worry the producer.

“People don’t remember that Tom Hanks did the fifth body-switching movie when he did ‘Big,’” Roth said. “I was at Disney when we did ‘Armageddon,’ and there was another movie that Paramount/Dreamworks did called ‘Deep Impact,’” he said describing 1998’s competing asteroid disaster movies that were released just 7 weeks apart but both managed to be hits. Roth said he did a little research on his own afterwards and found out that “people were more likely to come see ‘Armageddon’ if they’d seen ‘Deep Impact.’ People are either interested in kinds of movies or they’re not.”

4. Director Rupert Sanders, who has quite an impressive resume of commercial work, said that working with a classic story like Snow White was a great way to “lose his cinematic virginity.”

The first footage shown during the panel was a small sampling of work from director Sanders’ commercial career including famous spots for Halo 3, Nike and Monster. This managed to be quite an effective introduction for the under-the-radar filmmaker to the audience. Asked why he chose to make this his debut film the Sanders said he was excited to be able to work on such a large canvas with material that would give him a lot of room to play on peoples preconceptions of the story.
“I had actually wanted to do a war movie so it’s quite weird that I ended up with ‘Snow White.’ But what really excited me about it was the opportunity to create a world on a massive scale. Our movie is filled with giant battle scenes and exploding black knights, but I think the fundamental thing that is so great about it is that you have a story that all of us have in our hearts. Everyone’s read the story, everyone’s seen the cartoon, it’s very much a part of who we are,” he explained. “It’s a very complex way of dealing with mortality and to be able to play with some of those images: the mirror, the apple, the shape shifting Queen, it was such a great opportunity for me to really do what I do best which is create very large landscapes full of emotion. There are a lot of films that look great but there’s no heart to them… and it’s amazing to be able to give people an emotional ride as well as just a visual one.”

Roth said that he’s been pursuing Sanders for a long time, and when Snow White came along he knew that the helmer could create something truly unique, if not “definitive.” “I was chasing after Rupert for a few years, like a hot girl,” Roth confessed. “I had seen his work, and when I developed Snow White, he was the first guy I had in my mind because his commercials were just unbelievable. And one of the things we did when we were developing this is that we wanted to make a definitive version of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale.”

5. Kristen Stewart is pretty excited to be wielding a sword

Kristen Stewart was initially reluctant to take on Snow White before discovering how substantive the character was constructed.

After “Twilight,” Stewart said she wasn’t eager to tackle another character immortalized in literature. But Snow White’s character itself won her over. “Snow White wasn’t something that initially I was jumping at, but she’s got this amazing ability to channel fear of things that people are very afraid of into this very focused, really charged driving energy,” she observed. “She’s also the people’s leader, and she doesn’t let her heart cloud her mind, and she doesn’t let her mind get in the way of doing what she feels is important.” She also admitted there was a more tangible reason the role appealed to her: “Also I get to have a sword.”

Claflin even hinted that his Prince Charming might not “necessarily as charming as one would hope.” Theron, who plays the Evil Queen, said she thought Stewart would “give her a run for her money” but was ready to go toe-to-toe with her. “I’m ready for it, bitch. Let’s go,” the Oscar winner said to cheers from the crowd.

The director gave the crowd a first look at the eight dwarves which includes Ian McShane, Toby Jones, Bob Hoskins, Eddie Marsan, Stephen Graham, Ray Winstone and Nick Frost. Slightly spoiling that they won’t all make it, he says that “they’re very tough East End villains in their day jobs but they’re coming together to be very tough group of East End dwarves. This is my desperation to make a war movie. I’ve cast my British SAS Squad with this great actors who are very funny, very tough and together they’re just unstoppable.”

6. Already a franchise veteran, Chris Hemsworth thanks dumb luck instead of a calculated career plan for his run of big movies.

Like Stewart, Chris Hemsworth was caught off guard by the project’s take on a familiar story.
With “Star Trek” and “Thor” under his belt, Hemsworth has enjoyed a meteoric rise to success in a series of projects that put him squarely in Fanboy Central. But he insisted that taking on a third fantasy-themed project was more a byproduct of luck and personal interest than any sort of career plan. “The last couple years I’ve just been trying to get a job,” he said with a laugh. “The fact I’ve fell into films like this that were cool fantasies and had a sense of adventure was a huge bonus, because growing up, they were the ones I most enjoyed watching.

But this cast and the director were hugely appealing, and this story was different from the Snow White we grew up with. To take that fantasy and adventure and set it in a darker version, that was exciting.”

7. Charlize Theron says The Queen in this version of Snow White is basically a serial killer

Despite its supernatural storyline, Charlize Theron saw playing the Queen as a return of sorts to her more serious, dramatic work.

Theron is certainly no stranger to fantasy and science-fiction projects, having been in “Aeon Flux” and “Mighty Joe Young” among others, but she said that she resists formalizing the process of selecting roles. “It’s weird,” she reflected. “I usually get asked the question a lot why I play a lot of strong women, and I don’t like to compartmentalize it. But the biggest thing is getting an understanding of the world and the circumstances.” In the case of the Queen, she said that she wants to humanize the character in much the same way she did Aileen Wuornos in “Monster,” albeit without quite the same sort of physical transformation.

“It was important for me to understand this as a fable – to not see her as a bad person, but understand where she came from. I don’t think this is going to be ‘the queen, and she’s evil.’ A lot of her circumstances lead into her actions,” Theron said. “But trust me, she’s dark. I’m pretty much preparing to play a serial killer.”

July 22 was wild as bananas as 100 Monkeys took the stage at the Fillmore Charlotte. Dedicated fans lined the venue waiting for a glimpse of Jackson Rathbone (you know, that one vampire from that mega-hit series). Their wait wasn’t in vain as local band Brandon Kirkley and the Firecrackers, The Kissing Club and Bleeding Horse Express opened the show.

Once 100 Monkeys took the stage, their funk, rock, 60s-esque music assured everyone was on their feet dancing. Between hits from their new album Liquid Zoo and an improv song by the name of “Magic Wand,” everyone left the venue feeling energized and satisfied.

@awesomearianna About 50 fans were given the amazing opportunity to meet Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Kristen Stewart, and Bill Condon at Comic Con 2011 and I was one of them. We were told that no cameras or cell phones were allowed to be out in the room, or else we would have our badges taken away so we took no chances. About 5-10 fans were let in at a time and I was in the second group. I thought I would freak out but amazingly enough I stay calm and I think that’s all due to Taylor. When it was my turn I was up and he gave me his flashing smile and said “Hey, how’s it going!” So naturally if someone is not going to be nervous with me, i’m not going to be nervous with them. I said hi and told him I have had to wait many years to meet him and the time has finally come! So he wrote on my poster “Nice finally meeting you” and said it was great to meet me! He was sweet beyond words! So then Rob was next and my calmness was still there (oddly enough) so he said “hey” and gave me that half smirk and head nod I said the first thing that popped to mind “Hey, when are you finally going to buzz all that hair off” (or something to that effect) and he laughed and told me that he actually likes it’s it likes it and wants to keep his hair like that for a while, all while laughing it off. I (still giggling) thanked him and walked to Kristen were I completely shut down for some reason.She seems very shy but she was very sweet and smiled and thanked me for coming. "

Yesterday a man strolled by dressed as Colonel Sanders, carrying a prop chicken bucket. A rather antiquarian costume choice, I thought, unlikely to score many points with the gods, gladiators, zombies, vampiras, Disney cuties, and mutant experiments gone awry dominating the snaking scene, but perhaps he was taking part in some sort of "skit."

After the Snow White and the Huntsman rollout in hallowed Hall H, I was remarking to Justin how tired Kristen Stewart's affected emo shtick had gotten, how she slumps in her chair on stage half-turned to the audience (while all of her fellow panelists faced front), hanging her head as if all of the fame were too much and too new for her, swallowing her answers and hiding behind her hair. Given the dozens of press and fan events she's done, when is she going to stop acting like a teenager dragged out of her room to the dinner table?

To which a young fan of restricted height but loyal fierceness, overhearing us, wheeled her head around and said: "Kristen's not pretending, she's just REALLY SHY!"
I stand corrected.

Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron talk about 'Snow White and the Huntsman'

SAN DIEGO - Can you have a successful panel in front of 6,000 people when your movie hasn't shot a single frame of footage yet? That's always the million-dollar question at Comic-Con, but this year "Snow White and the Huntsman" surprised and intrigued after an hour of pimping its wares in Hall H.

One of two "Snow White" films to hit theaters next year (Tarsem Sing's "The Brother's Grimm: Snow White" being the other), this incarnation of the classic tale is expected to have a much grittier view of the fable. On hand for the discussion was Kristen Stewart (Snow White), Chris Hemsworth (the Huntsman), Charlize Theron (the evil Queen), "Pirates at the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides'" Sam Clafin (the prince) producers Joe Roth and Palak Patel and director Rupert Sanders. The film won't start shooting until next week, but with a June 1, 2012 release date, Roth admitted this was the one time they could hit the Comic-Con faithful and show their wares.

"I don't want to spoil the movie, but we have only kind of met each other very briefly," Theron says after the cast settled on stage. And referring to her onscreen adversary, Stewart, she noted, "She's probably going to give me a run for my money. I'm readay for it bitch. Let's go."

As the audience laughs, Theron adds, "It's not funny. It's for real. Let's go."

That back and forth -- mostly on the "Monster" actress' part, became a constant theme of the hour-long panel. Before it went there, however, the talented Sanders (who is best known for his commercial for Halo 3 and Black Duty Ops 3) talked about how "Huntsman" became his feature film directing debut.

"I actually wanted to do a war movie, but what really excited me about 'Snow White' was about [doing] a movie on an epic scale," Sanders says. "You have a story that all of us have in our hearts. It's very much part of how we are and it's a complex way of detailing with mortality. The mirror, the apple, the shape shifting queen. A great opportunity for me to do what I do best -- large landscapes with big emotion. With commercials you are very stuck. You can't really do that much. You can't tell a story really. So, to work from one of the classics -- it's nice to lose my cinematic virginity."

Could Theron be a tad jealous of her co-stars immense popularity? Her remarks came across as teasing, but she certainly took every opportunity to banter with the "Twilight" star.

"She's got this amazing ability to channel fear. Things people are normally afraid of into focused and charged energy," Stewart reveals. "She's also the people's leader. Not heavy handed, sincere. Doesn't let her mind get in the way of doing things. Also I have a sword and stuff. A really cool weapon. I'm excited to get going."

Roth, a former head of Walt Disney Studios and Revolution Studios as well as the producer of Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland," described "Huntsman" as almost "'Lord of the Rings' in terms of size and scope and appetite." He also addressed the elephant in the room - the other "Snow White" film -- by recalling how easy it was for two massive meteor movies survived just a few weeks from each other in 1988, "Deep Impact" and "Armageddon." Roth recalls that after both films were blockbusters he did some follow up research and notes, "We found out they were more likely to see 'Armageddon if they had seen 'Deep Impact.'" That hasn't always been the case (see "Volcano" and "Dante's Peak"), but with 10 weeks between release dates both he and Universal Pictures are confident each film will find its audience. And as Roth and Sanders noted, this "Snow White" is much more adult. To give a sense of what direction Sanders is going in, a demo reel featuring unknown actors instead of the announced cast was shown. Used to help sell the studio on moving forward the project, the reel featured very stylized images and a dark and stormy landscape that Snow White is trying to survive in. And with talents like Collen Atwood providing costumes (as seen in these brand new reveals of the actors in character) and Dominic Watkins (the last three Paul Greengrass films) behind the camera it's hard not to imagine Sanders pulling it off. The screenplay? Well that remains to be seen.

As for why the cast decided to journey to this darker world of "Snow White"? Well, sometimes it just comes down to opportunities. Even if you're already established as the Avenging God of Thunder, "Thor."

"Look the last couple of years I've been in the states I've just been trying to get a job," Hemsworth says. "The director was hugely appealing and the type of [take] on this story is different than the 'Snow White' we grew up with - a dark and grittier version."

After shooting back-to-back parts of "Breaking Dawn," Stewart says the project appealed to her because it wasn't the Snow White she was expecting. Noting there are some major "mirror breaking scenes" she describes Snow as "someone who is not remotely self conscious" and "someone who isn't really aware of who she is, but has a strong sense of self and she saves the day."

For Theron, she's had to find a way to play the Queen as more than just a stock villain.

It really all plays in the circumstances," Theron says. "She starts off as a bad person and it was important to see what drives her and [how] she gets were she is -- [what] circumstances lead into her action. Trust me, she's dark. She's a serial killer. [It's all about] trying to ground it and make it real."

As for the rest of the cast, Sanders says he recruited some "tough east end villains - tough east end dwarfs" for the eight dwarfs. That's right. Eight and they include Ian McShane, Nick Frost, Ray Winstone, Bob Hoskins, Eddie Marsan and Ray Winstone. The first time feature helmer refers to the crew as "My British SAS squad. very funny, very tough. There are eight and there are a few great lines [that] gets one of them get killed. It's a copyright issue."

To clear that up for those following at home, neither new "Snow White" production can use the title "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs." That's held by Walt Disney Studios.

But at the end of the day, it was the fake competition between Stewart and Theron that most in the hall will remember most.

"I am very well be heaved. I take myself very seriously," Stewart jokes sarcastically.

"You're going to be fine because I'm an Oscar winner," Theron dishes. "I take the work very seriously. We're gonna be fine."

That gets a huge response from the crowd. Stewart tries to banter back relying, "You don't have yo show me up."

Looking to get the last laugh, Theron adds, "I will be calling you 'Snow White' all the time."

"Snow White and the Huntsman" opens nationwide on June 1, 2012.

It looks as if Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart are going to make great mortal enemies.
After discussing what drew her to the titular heroine in Snow White and the Huntsman, Stewart then joked to her castmates, "I'm not good at stunts, actually. I don't know why I'm doing this...But you better not mess with me because I take myself very seriously."
"You're going to be fine," Theron, the Evil Queen herself, assured her. "I'm an Oscar winner, so we take work really seriously here. You'll be fine."
So are these two ready to go head-to-head?
You don't have to show me up," Stewart told her. Theron's reply? "I will call you Snow White all the time."
"I'll be calling Sam Snow White," offered hunky huntsman Chris Hemsworth, referring to the film's resident prince charming, Sam Claflin. Sounds like we know who will be providing the comic relief on those long shooting days.
But joking aside, did we get any clues as to what the final product is supposed to look like?
"Our movie, I like to think, is on the scale of Lord of the Rings, in terms of size and scope and appetite—a tough, rough, active male-female picture," producer Joe Roth said. "I can't speak for the other movie, but from the images, it's a softer version," he said, referring to the other Snow White picture in the works starring Lily Collins and Julia Roberts.
"Everyone's read the story...It's part of who we are," said director Rupert Sanders, who's making his feature-film debut. It has "a very complex way of dealing with mortality. To play with those images, the mirror, the apple, shape-shifting...It was such a great opportunity for me to really do what I do best, creating large landscapes full of emotions."
Back to what attracted Stewart to her character: "She's got this amazing ability to channel fear, things that people are typically very afraid of, into this really focused, really charged, driving energy. She's also like the people's leader and...truly doesn't let her heart cloud her mind. [She] doesn't let her mind get in the way of doing things she feels strongly about. Also, I get to have a sword and stuff."
Looking ahead to working with Stewart, Theron said that, so far, the two hadn't spent much time together but she could tell that Twilight star was going to "give me a run for my money. And I'm ready for it, bitch, let's go," she joked.
Stewart was asked whether she saw any of herself in Snow White, and she had a pretty awesome answer:
"It's hard for me to play a person you don't see parts of yourself in," she began. "I'd like to be like her. Well, I'm the fairest in the land. And I have a seriously good heart, really, for people who don't know me."
"And you like apples, big red apples," Hemsworth popped in. "You had, like, seven on the plane."
As for the Evil Queen, Theron's got big plans for that role.
"It's important to me to really understand...where she came from and what drives her to get to where she is. It won't be the Evil Queen who [just]shows up evil. There's going to be a lot of circumstances that bleed into her action. I don't want to just be evil.
"And trust me, she's dark," Theron said. "She's a serial killer. I'm pretty much preparing to play a serial killer. I'm trying to ground it and make it something real. Watch out, Kristen."
Sounds like we have quite the matchup on our hands. Too bad we have to wait almost a year to see it play out on the big screen.

Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron, Chris Hemsworth, Sam Claflin and Director Rupert Sanders rocked up to plug one of two new ‘Snow White’ flicks due out in 2012, Universal Picture’s “Snow White and the Huntsman”.
Here’s the official synopsis :

In the epic action-adventure Snow White and the Huntsman, Kristen Stewart (Twilight) plays the only person in the land fairer than the evil queen (Oscar® winner Charlize Theron) who is out to destroy her. But what the wicked ruler never imagined is that the young woman threatening her reign has been training in the art of war with a huntsman (Chris Hemsworth, Thor) who was dispatched to kill her. Sam Claflin (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) joins the cast as the prince long enchanted by Snow White’s beauty and power.
The breathtaking new vision of the legendary tale is from Joe Roth, the producer of Alice in Wonderland, producer Sam Mercer (The Sixth Sense) and acclaimed commercial director and state-of-the-art visualist Rupert Sanders.

And now for some dot points about the panel.

Firstly, there’s no footage because the movie hasn’t started filming yet
Producer Palek Patel says he’d been courting Rupert Sanders for years. “I was chasing after Rupert for many years… like a hot girl. I’d seen his work and when I did Snow White, I had in mind because his commercials are like artwork.”
Fellow producer Joe Roth says that this movie will be much different to Tarsem Singh’s “Snow White” movie, noting that this would probably be more in the vein of “Lord of the Rings” – something big and epic. Roth thinks people will go and see both “Snow White” movies, just as they did wen two dueling asteroid movies titled “Armageddon” and “Deep Impact” came out seven-weeks-apart in 1998.
A reel of Sanders’ commercial work is shown; the filmmaker notes that he was actually trying to get an action movie, so it’s rather strange that he would end up helming a fairytale flick

Kristen Stewart Feels 'Strong' In 'Snow White' Armor

SAN DIEGO — Kristen Stewart may be the fairest of them all, but her Snow White that was unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday (July 23) certainly doesn't look like a damsel in distress.

The "Twilight Saga" actress took to the stage to promote"Snow White and the Huntsman" in Hall H alongside her co-stars Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron and Sam Claflin, producer Joe Roth and director Rupert Sanders. Unfortunately, there was no footage to show since the flick doesn't start shooting until next week, but the cast did bring some first looks at the costume design and general feel of the movie.
Stewart's Snow White doesn't have a yellow and blue dress, and there's not a bow to be seen. Instead, she was decked out in a full suit of armor and sported a giant shield with a white tree emblazoned on it. Her Prince Charming, played by Claflin, was similarly dressed, though he teased that his prince was not as sweet as he might have been in previous incarnations.
As the titular Huntsman, Hemsworth looked a bit ragged and dirty with his axe and commoner's clothes. When asked what it took to get him in costume for that, he joked that it required "about four or five of hours of rolling around in the mud, four days of drinking" and for the clothes to be dug up "from the backyard in Australia."
The evil stepmother, played by Theron, was as imposing as anyone could have been hoped for. Theron looked like a more badass version of the evil queen from the classic Disney cartoon, with a braided blonde coif on her head and a dagger in hand.
"This, as a fable, she sort of just starts off as a bad person, so it was important to understand [why she is the way she is]," Theron explained about her character. "A lot of her circumstances will kind of bleed into her actions ... She's a serial killer; I'm pretty much preparing to play a serial killer."
This will be one of Stewart's first roles outside of "The Twilight Saga," and Roth said part of the draw of casting her was to be the one who helped her expand as an actress. For Stewart, it was the chance to play a tougher role.
"It's not a little girl sitting by a well with little tweety birds telling her what to do and where to go," she said of her character. "[The costume] makes you feel kind of strong occasionally, sometimes, but I kind of feel tiny, my pinhead sticks out of these enormous things."

Kristen Stewart Shows Off Snow White and the Hunstman at Comic-Con

Kristen Stewart pulled double duty at this year's Comic-Con by showing up to promote both Breaking Dawn and her next project after the Twilight series, Snow White and the Huntsman. She, her castmates Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron, and Sam Claflin, plus director Rupert Sanders, took to the stage to talk about their 2012 re-imagining of the fairy tale. Producer Joe Roth promised the crowd that their take on Snow White will be a "tough, rough, active male/female picture" that's "on the scale of Lord of the Rings." While there was no footage from the film to show off yet, we did get to see images of the cast in costume and hear more about the ambitious project, including why Stewart was picked to play the fairest of them all.

The images were dark, gritty, and definitely not traditional. Claflin and Hemsworth looked like rugged soldiers in their costumes, Theron still had her blond hair but looked fierce with a high collar, clutching a scary-looking dagger. There was one picture of the dwarves, who are played by regular-sized actors like Nick Frost and Ray Winstone and made to look dwarf-szied (and there were eight — Sanders slipped that one dies in the film). The final reveal was Kristen Stewart as Snow White, and does she ever look hardcore: she's in full armor with a shield and disheveled hair. This is definitely no bedtime story.
Stewart said she liked the idea of playing Snow White because the character "doesn't let her heart cloud her mind and get in the way" of doing what she needs to do, and called her "the people's leader." Plus, it sounds like she's pumped to take on the apparently action-heavy flick — she cited "sword stuff" and "really cool weapons" as other reasons she was excited about the movie.

Theron joked around a lot during the panel, telling the crowd that she thinks Stewart is "going to give me a run for my money," to which she added "I'm ready for it b*tch, lets go," amid cheers. Interestingly, she described the wicked queen in a very dark sense: "She's a serial killer." As for her casting, producer Roth said that Theron was the first and only choice.
Roth addressed the reasons for casting Stewart, mentioning that they had originally wanted an unknown. They considered Stewart because she had proven herself as a huge star in another series (Twilight, maybe you've heard of it?). Plus, he said "the idea of being the first ones to get her out of the franchise was something we couldn't resist."
As for the other Snow White film starring Lily Collins, Roth said that he thinks the two films are "two very different projects." He brought up the recently-released image of Collins as Snow White and said that based on that, their film seems like it's going to be "a softer version." He's not worried that people will see one film and not want to see the other, though, saying that "people are interested in the same kind of movies or not."

3:30-4:15pm PST/6:30pm EST Universal Pictures: Snow White and the Huntsmen— Universal Pictures is bringing the stars and filmmakers of its epic action-adventure film based on the script Snow White and the Huntsman to Comic-Con. Scheduled to appear to discuss their roles in this breathtaking new vision of the legendary tale are Kristen Stewart (Twilight), Oscar winner Charlize Theron (Prometheus), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), and Sam Claflin (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides). Director Rupert Sanders (Halo 3 campaign) and other filmmakers will also be on hand to reveal exclusive footage. Q&A session to follow. Hall H
