Jimmy Fallon Speaks About Working With Robert Pattinson

Jimmy Fallon stopped by NBC’s day of the TCA press tour on Friday to talk about hosting the Emmys and Late Night. We caught up with him at the party later that night, where we couldn’t help but ask about working with Robert Pattinson on Robert is Bothered. Jimmy had nothing but glowing words for the Twilight star, who caused the loudest fan screams of any guest he’s had on the show.
PopSugar: Can we expect to see Robert is Bothered at the Emmys?
Jimmy Fallon: Of all the bits on our show that we can do, we gave [the Academy] 10 different versions of all sorts of things we could do, to which they said these are all great, but we have to give out awards. So we have to cut it down to three bits. And Robert is Bothered was not in there. I pitched Robert is Bothered for Teen Choice Awards.

PS: How was Robert Pattinson to work with on Robert is Bothered?
JF:
He was a great sport. He climbed up in the tree and did it with us. I’ve never heard louder screams in my life. The screams didn’t compare to anyone, even when Justin Bieber has been on. He was describing his movie Remember Me and people would just not stop screaming. And I was just thinking this is so cool. What an experience. I really hope he’s enjoying this ride. He’s a great guy and he deserves it. He was really shy and really happy — exactly the same backstage as he is on the interview. He’s a charming guy, but just really shy and I just hope he’s enjoying the moment. It must be super exciting to be him.

Kristen Stewart: Scared of high expectations

With great expectations comes a great fear. Same thing is turning out to be true for the Twilight star Kristen Stewart aka Bella Swan. The very beautiful actress has revealed that although she is playing one of the most loved girl in the Twilight series, still, she is afraid that a simple misinterpretation of Bella’s character can make her life hell. Girls love her because they admire Robert Pattinson, and that is why Stewart thinks that she has to do her best.
“It’s just surreal to be a crucial part of a machine like this. I’m sort of the vessel. These girls are obsessed with Edward through me. If I wasn’t right I’d be persecuted and put on a cross.” Contactmusic quoted her as saying.
But nevertheless, she enjoys working in Twilight. The third installment of the movie has released and she is eagerly waiting the fourth and the penultimate (actually the final, but divided into two parts) part to go on floor. She stated that playing Bella on the large screen is truly exciting, and she is looking forward to play the next two years of Bella Swan’s life in the Breaking Dawn.

She also shared her experience of ‘The Runaways’, the movie which is based on rocker Joan Jett’s life. Here she shared the screen with The Was of the Worlds star Dakota Fanning. She stated that she was completely occupied with the shooting of Twilight and she didn’t have free time. But she loved the story of The Runaways and she somehow managed to shoot for it.
“It was tough because I only had a really tiny window of free time, but I really wanted to make the movie. And I didn’t want to get any older than Joan was when she was in The Runaways. I just crammed it in and hoped it would work.” She stated.

Hollywood's next generation is mixing mainstream films with more challenging indie roles

Hollywood's new generation is tearing up the rulebook to mix mainstream movie appearances with deeper, more challenging indie fare.

Up-and-coming stars have long gravitated in the direction of doing small-scale movies.

According to one independent film producer, speaking on condition of anonymity, landing a teen celebrity suits both parties. "With a teen star attached we can secure the funding to get the movie made and they get a shot at being taken seriously," he says.

"For them it's liberating to be in a film where they experience creative freedom and not have a studio breathing down their neck."

Take the stars of the Twilight saga. Away from their vampire and virginity antics that do such a roaring trade in the multiplexes, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart eschew more lucrative offers to act in smaller films. Greg Mottola, who directed Stewart in last year's quirky coming-of-age comedy Adventureland, thinks by doing so they can escape being casualties of the 21st-century fame freakshow. "They want to cut their teeth, and it's impressive to me that they're confident enough to do that and not be worried that they'll risk cutting into their fans," he says. "I think they are savvy enough to see that people who don't tap into that burn out, become tabloid fodder and are deemed irrelevant so quickly. They used to be famous and within a year or two they've become yesterday's news."

Stewart, Mottola says, "is a very serious person. She came on the set every day totally prepared like a supreme Method actor ready to do whatever it takes." Yet Twilight devotees don't seem to have been all that interested in seeing any of her other work. Welcome to the Rileys, directed by Ridley Scott's son Jake, in which Stewart plays a stripper opposite James Gandolfini, will finally be released in America in the autumn almost two years since it finished filming. Despite rave reviews at the Sundance Film Festival, The Runaways, a musical biopic featuring Stewart as Joan Jett, didn't take flight upon its American release in February, though. Indeed, disputes over the The Runaways's distribution led to the resignation of Bob Berney, the head of Apparition, the independent movie studio that released it.

Robert Pattinson, Stewart's Twilight co-star and reported love interest, is also blazing the indie trail. At a pre-release London premiere last year of Little Ashes, in which he portrayed Salvador Dali, Twilight fans snapped up tickets to the advance screening in such numbers that Little Ashes's director, writer or producers couldn't get in to watch their film. But even though Pattinson appeared naked in Little Ashes, "Twi-hards" found the notion of a Euro arthouse film depicting the relationship between Dali and Federico Garcia Lorca to be of limited appeal; Little Ashes still never expanded beyond 16 screens.
