Yesterday, my friends from TwiCrackAdict sent along a scoop they'd been given about a potential new "Renesmee" castmate for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2.
According to that information, a teenage actress by the name of Christie Burke was chosen for a flashforward scene involving "Jacob" and the character "Renesmee."
As you know, the main actress for the character is Mackenzie Foy, a ten-year-old who is currently working on her portions of Breaking Dawn in Vancouver. While Foy is quite suited, especially with her adorable face and its similarities to her on-screen parents' (Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, of course), for the role, there are moments in the story which require the character to be of a different age.
Thusly, there've been other Renesmees reportedly added in the past, including Rachel St. Gelais, Sierra Pitkin, and Eliza Faria, and CGI technology is expected to be employed for the purpose of making Foy appear to be the same height, etc. of these other actresses.
So, clearly there's a precedent here for using several stages of Renesmee.
Also, yesterday LaineyGossip reported that one of the scenes being done in Vancouver for Breaking Dawn was "a happy future family scene when the kid is all grown up."
Looking at Christie Burke's photo as compared with Mackenzie Foy's, one can see that the similarities are strong, and if the intention in choosing Burke for the job was to find a look-alike for their current girl, job well done!
Of course, here's where the usual caveat comes in. None of this has been confirmed by Summit Entertainment, and this means it's not officially official just yet, but the same was true with Rachel St. Gelais, for example, and her fellow Breaking Dawn castmates helped to set that one into stone.
So, what do you think of Christie Burke for a teenage Renesmee?
