New Interview! Billy Burke talks about Breaking Dawn

PhotobucketWhile chatting with actor Billy Burke last night on the red carpet at the premiere of Drive Angry 3D in Hollywood, CA (see our extensive coverage of that here), we touched briefly on the other genre project in which he’s involved--namely, the currently in-production Twilight Saga films Breaking Dawn Parts 1 and 2.

Said Burke (who plays the villainous ‘Jonah King’ in Drive Angry and Bella’s rather earnest father ‘Charlie Swan’ in the vastly popular Twilight Saga), “I leave on Sunday to go to Vancouver (to commence shooting). I’ve been back and forth to Baton Rouge doing little bits and pieces.”

As for what Twilight fans can expect of his character’s arc in the sequels (which are being directed back-to-back by filmmaker Bill Condon), “Well, a lot happens in the final installment,” Burke told us, “because (my character of ‘Charlie’) finally is clued in to what’s been going on the entire time. I mean, he’s been the most inept and clueless cop in the world for the entire series, and finally he gets his fucking entire world turned upside down, and that’s going to be really fun to play with.”

Synopsis:
In the highly anticipated next chapter of the blockbuster The Twilight Saga, the newfound married bliss of Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and vampire Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) is cut short when a series of betrayals and misfortunes threatens to destroy their world.

After their wedding Bella and Edward travel to Rio de Janeiro for their honeymoon, where they finally give in to their passions. Bella soon discovers she is pregnant, and during a nearly fatal childbirth Edward finally fulfills her wish to become immortal. But the arrival of their remarkable daughter, Renesmee, sets in motion a perilous chain of events that pits the Cullens and their allies against the Volturi, the fearsome council of vampire leaders, setting the stage for an all-out battle.

Part 1 of Breaking Dawn is slated to be released in theatres on November 18, 2011. Part 2 will follow a year later on November 16, 2012
